How to practise IELTS Speaking questions
Start with one Speaking part and one skill. Use Part 1 to practise direct personal answers, Part 2 to organise a longer story, and Part 3 to explain an opinion with reasons and examples. Answer aloud before reading a sample lesson so you can notice what you genuinely need to improve.
Choose questions by purpose, not at random
Use the part and topic filters to create a focused set. A group of questions about work, travel, or technology helps you reuse ideas and vocabulary without memorising fixed scripts. When a prompt feels difficult, open a related Topic Lesson for an answer structure and a worked example.
Avoid the common mistake of collecting questions
Reading hundreds of prompts is not speaking practice. The common mistake is to save lists, think silently, and never test an answer under time pressure. Choose fewer questions, speak each answer once, then repeat only after deciding on one improvement such as a clearer reason or more specific example.
Use a four-step practice loop
Choose a prompt, plan two or three key ideas, speak with the correct timer, and review the result with a self-check. Repeat the answer once rather than endlessly polishing it. This practice loop builds retrieval, timing, and answer development while keeping the language flexible enough for the real test.
