How to practise IELTS Speaking Part 3 questions
Start with a clear opinion or trend, explain the reason, and add a wider example. Part 3 rewards developed ideas, so practise moving beyond your own experience to discuss society, education, work, technology, or other broader contexts.
Build balanced discussion answers
After supporting your main view, add a limitation or alternative. Phrases such as “in many cases” and “that depends on” help you avoid extreme claims. Balance should clarify your judgment, not turn every answer into a formal debate.
Avoid the common mistake of staying abstract
A general opinion without an example can sound repetitive. The common mistake is adding more abstract statements instead of evidence. Use a specific workplace, school, family, or public-policy example to make the reasoning easier to follow.
Use a focused Part 3 practice loop
Choose three questions from one topic, speak for 45 to 60 seconds, and review whether each answer included a reason and example. Repeat only the weakest response with clearer cause-and-effect language and a more balanced conclusion.
