Sample answers
How has technology changed the way people communicate?
It has made communication much faster, but not always deeper. For example, people can now send voice messages or join video calls instantly, which is useful for work and long-distance families. At the same time, quick messages can replace more thoughtful conversations, so I think technology improves access but does not automatically improve relationship quality.
The answer is balanced, abstract enough for Part 3, and supported by examples.
Band 6 vs Band 8 comparison
Band 6 pattern
Technology is good because people can talk online. But sometimes it is bad because people use phones too much.
Band 8 direction
Technology has removed many practical barriers to communication, especially distance and cost. However, it has also made some interactions more fragmented, because people often reply quickly without giving full attention.
The stronger answer uses abstract nouns, explains cause and effect, and gives a more precise downside.
Useful vocabulary
practical barriers
Use this for cost, distance, or access problems.
fragmented communication
Use this when conversations become short and broken.
over-reliance

Common mistakes
Weak pattern: Only giving personal examples.
Correction: Move from your example to a wider social point.
Part 3 asks for discussion, so the answer should go beyond your own life.
Weak pattern: Using extreme claims like technology is always harmful.
Correction: Use balanced language such as usually, in many cases, or it depends on.
